ending february

february ends and meteorological winter supposedly has ended, but ha, the cold and snow is still with us.

continuing, here are nos. 24-26.

the detail shows a little ragged edge pocket (24)

a simple bit of couching  found here (25)

the brown stain on the cloth is from experimenting with dye: cutch with a ferrous sulphide dip and a chance touch of indigo (26)

back to shoveling snow and fighting the cold again this week.  my seed packs are saying, no, not time yet!

keep warm and enjoy the sun whenever you find it.  not too much has peek'd around here.

  1. i just love the way you break up words to reveal new meanings. i've done that in my head for years...sometimes when people are talking to me. i guess that's rude of me but i can't ever stop myself from doing that. it gives such a different perspective and attached to your beautiful creations, it gives it visual meaning. wonderful...all of it.

    1. yes, i think language is made up of root systems. most european languages structure their words on these roots - maybe that's what we do - dig for roots?

  2. always a pleasure and so inspirational to visit. I've said it before but I am going to say it again, presentation of the highest standard and your work deserves nothing less. The blue and white gets me every time and the veil laid over your enso on shallow thought is perfect for protection and concealment. And motion is appropriate for that piece, it does move, it trails and make you wander across it.....snow? shovel? pity you can't embroider it away....
